FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS *

What can I expect at my first session?

Your first session is focused on getting to know you and understanding your goals for counseling. We will talk about what brought you in, what you would like to work on, and how we can approach things together moving forward.

How long are sessions, and how often will we meet?

Most sessions are 55 minutes long. Most clients start with weekly sessions, but we can adjust the frequency based on your needs, goals, and schedule over time.

What kind of counseling approach do you use?

This depends on your needs. I often find a psychodynamic approach is helpful to explore how past experiences shape current challenges. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (which works on changing thinking patterns) and Acceptance and Committment Therapy (an approach that helps clients manage painful thoughts and feelings so they can move forward with the life they want). Often, we will do a bit of both, based on your individual situation. And for some clients who are at a specific crossroads, a Solution Focused Brief Therapy approach may be most appropriate.

Do you take insurance?

Yes! Currently I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tufts, and United Health Care. I am also happy to provide a “Superbill” for out of network clients to submit to their insurance for potential reimbursement.

How do I schedule a consultation or appointment?

You can book a free consultation by contacting me directly by phone or email. I typically respond within 1–2 business days.
